The Bulvers are a race of brutal beings known for their cult of strength. Cruelty runs through this race from beginning to end: the weak have no place here other than as slaves of the strong. The culture of violence makes the Bulver planets a most unpleasant and dangerous place.
Bulvers get along poorly with races that do not acknowledge anyone stronger than themselves. The Surditary, who once showed the Bulvers who was stronger and destroyed a third of the race's population in the course of their campaign of conquest, are regarded among the Bulvers as something like gods.
The Surditary use Bulvers as fighters in their gangs. Bulvers can also be found among the servants of certain other races.
Bulvers are known to be partial to eating a Snizer: they hold Snizer lives at nothing, and only the patronage of the Surditary saves the Snizers from ending up as a dish on the table of their stronger neighbours.
A Bulver is a massive, broad-shouldered humanoid with a dog's head: a heavy muzzle, short ears, red eyes. Bulvers wear almost no armour.
In the order of the illustrations: a Bulver from the shared sheet of the lesser races of the south, and that sheet in full — a Shchekit on the left, a Bulver in the centre, a Snizer on the right.
