The Koshkri are a widespread race, known for their independence and pride, as well as their grace and speed. On the whole they dislike communal living, preferring a fairly independent existence: Koshkri cities, as a rule, consist of a jumble of free-standing houses, and even in large apartment blocks it is rare to find more than one apartment per floor.
For all their independence, the Koshkri get along beautifully with members of other races, and in many states they have developed a distinctive symbiosis with humans. Like the Homyaks, they are not inclined to form stable families, preferring to live alone. Children leave their families early — in practice, from the age of seven the responsibility for raising them passes to the state, or else they are forced to earn their own living.
The overall lifespan of the Koshkri ranges from 50 to 70 years. At the same time, they have better learning abilities than humans: by age 10 they can already possess the same skills a human has by age 22.
